Meet Rick Ketterling         

 

 

Rick Ketterling knows what matters in real estate & life

  Rick Ketterling, a realtor at the Apple Valley REMAX Results office, knows what matters both in real estate and in life.

  Rick’s early years were filled with enriching experiences that shaped who he is today. Rick grew up in a household that was always changing because his parents took in children through the foster care program. This experience taught him the most about giving to others who are in need as well as helping him learn to appreciate all he has been blessed with.

  Having this view of life outside of himself greatly impacted his decision to join the Air Force out of high school. His years in the Air Force provided him with many opportunities to not only see the world, but to be part of helping people in other parts of the world who were less fortunate than himself. His Air Force career took him through Desert Shield/ Storm, Somalia, Bosnia, Kosovo and Afghanistan. He retired from the Air Force in 2005 after a very full and exciting career.

  Rick’s dedication to those around him has been integrated into his life as his family has grown. He is married to Kate and has three sons, Reed 15, Chase 13, Hunter 11 and there newest addition on August 11, 2011 they adopted 6 year old Catelyn from Liberia. He loves coaching his kids in baseball, triathlons, training in martial arts for his 2nd degree Black Belt at Rosemount ATA, hunting, fishing and golfing and ballet with Catelyn. All of these passions, as well as Rick’s faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, are being passed down to his sons as they are growing older.

  Rick has taken all the life lessons that he has learned thus far and made them part of his career as a realtor. “I make it a point to treat people the way I want to be treated,” Rick said. “Whether they are purchasing their first home, or their fifth home, I do my best to really listen and help them realize the dream that is moving them forward.”

  Rick started the Ketterling Group in 2000 now working with REMAX Results, which has real estate agents (including his wife, Kate), mortgage bankers, real estate closers and support staff. By creating a network of individuals who work closely together, Rick is able to provide his clients one-stop shopping for all their real estate needs. Rick says with confidence, that 80 percent of his business is from repeat clients or referrals from past clients. He attributes that to the top notch service he provides and to his client care program. The client care program provides communication to buyers after the sale is completed. Whether the client needs a painter or a plumber and whether it has been two hours past closing or two years, Rick is able to utilize his network to provide referrals to clients for nearly whatever they might need.

  As an example of his professionalism, Rick earned the designation of Super Real Estate Agent from the Twin Cities Business Monthly and Mpls. St.Paul Magazine in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. The award honors the top 2.7 percent of all Minnesota Realtors. One of the criteria for the award is feedback from past clients:

Whether he is assisting a very deserving veteran through the complicated process that faces current and former military service people, or assisting someone through the painful mortgage foreclosure process, Rick treats all his clients with respect. Rick said " You have to listen to your clients, You don't always know every detail to their life."  They may have had a death, sick loved one, going through divorce, saved their mariage from divorce you don't know but you need to be there for them and listen to them and try your best to help them in any way you can.  This is what my wife and I do for our clients." He utilizes his past experiences to be an effective listener and negotiator on the client’s behalf no matter what the situation.
